Challenge for the pilot

The lifestyle surveys carried out in 2016-2020, revealed that Klaipeda is facing a physical inactivity problem.

How the model for cross-sectoral cooperation benefitted the pilot?

The Model was used as a checklist and some points were used as topics for the meetings with stakeholders. Motivation domain was particularly useful – to set the common goals to motivate partners for cross-sectoral cooperation in the pilot.

How did the pilot benefit the life of the residents?

After the end of quarantine, the city residents were invited to come to Klaipėda City Public Health Bureau to try the VR tool. Moreover, various activities and events were provided during the European Mobility Week and different stakeholders were involved in preparation of the activity plan by proving their activities.

How was extended reality (XR) used in pilot?

The VR tool demonstrates the cycling routes of Klaipėda City. It is composed from two indoor bike trainers, two VR head-sets, two ventilators and filmed cycling routes. A participant can have a relaxing VR experience while cycling through different routes of Klaipėda city or compete with another participant. The participant can monitor his pulse, CO2 footprint, speed and distance. Other participants are able to observe filmed routes or competition in the TV set. This VR experience can be adapted to kids and adults.

What was the value of having transnational peers in Healthy Boost project?

Having peers in the project helped to realise that we have similar obstacles as our peers and it was good to know and learn about solutions from another point of view.
